Well hello; I didn't see you there.

<html>

Today I am going to talk about HTML. HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is the language that creates web pages, and can be used through a text editor such as "Text Wrangler" or "Notepad".

For example this is what normal code would look like.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title> Hi <title>
</head>
<body>
<p> Hi </p>
</body>
</html>

The stuff in between the < and > are called tags. These tags define what the code is supposed to do on the web page. <!DOCTYPE> is especially important in html because it defines the web page as a whole. Then it's followed by <html> which further describes the web page as a whole. Then the head section comes afterward, which contains all the metadata and title. Then the body section comes in and that's where the paragraphs or things you want to put on your web page is contained. Then all tags must closed with a same tag after the data corresponding with it has ended, by adding a / right in front of it. Make sure to save it as "filename.html". That's all.
