Writing code is pretty easy. Here we will be learning how to write code. First you need a text editing software like text wrangler for a mac or notepad++ for windows. Then once you open a document you have to define the doctype. To write that you should write:
<!DOCTYPE html>
This defines that the webpage is a html page. Then you start writing html. Type in:
<html>
Now you write:
<head>
This is where you will define a bunch of stuff mainly the title which we write:
<title> A title </title>
Be sure to write the / before the title in the second tag. Now close the head and go onto the body
</head>
<body>
Now you can write headings and paragraphs. There are different sized headings explained by paragraphs. 1 being the biggest 6 being the smallest.
<h1> this is a big heading </h1>
<h6> this is a small heading </h6>
<p> this is a paragraph </p>
You can also add images and links to your code. To put in an image from the internet you type:
<img src="url of the image" alt="text that replaces picture" style="width:picture width;height:picture height;">
For width and height you just write width and hight but for picture width and picture height you write the dimensions. Now for a link you write:
<a href="url of webpage">text</a>
Now you just end the body and then the code:
</body>
</html>
In the end your code should look a little like this:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title> text </title>
</head>
<body>
<h1> text </h1>
<h6> text </h6>
<p> text</p>
<img src="url" alt="text" style="width:picture width;height:picture height;">
<a href="url">text</a>
</body>
</html>
Be sure to end off everything! So that was a very quick tutorial on how to code! If you have mastered this part be sure to look at my other websites Which are nonexistent where you can learn even more code!
