writing html

The first step to creating a web page is the doctype. this tells your computer how to treat the document. <!DOCTYPE html;> next, you use open and closed brackets as tags, or code. when you wan to put in tags you start like this: <html;> and to close it, you put a slash, like this: </html;> next is the head - nothing in here will appear in the text of your page. something like your title would go here. <head;> now, you put in a title: <title;> insert title here </title;> your title will appear at the top of the page, or browser, but not as text on the actual page. this is all you'll be putting in the head right now, so you can close it: </head;> next is the body. everything you put in the body shows up on your page. as text <body;> To write a heading, you write the tag h1, the biggest heading - the headings get smaller as they go on. <h1;> insert heading here </h1;> one thing that can be put within the body is a paragraph, or groups of text. <p;> insert paragraph here </p;> Another cool thing that can be done with a web page is an image! This can be added simply using the formula below. <a;> <img src="link to image you like" alt="what should be said if you can't find image" style="width: px;height: px;border:0";> </a;> img is image, and alt is the alternative, if the photo you chose can't be found. with style, you specify the height and width of the photo. wanna add a link to your image so when it's clicked on, it goes to somewhere? simply put href=" (your link choice would be here) " within <a;> <a href="link to a site you like" ;> <img src="link to image you like" alt="what should be said if you can't find image" style="width: px;height: px;border:0";> </a;> finally, you close your page with /body </body;> and, in finality, /html </html;> ✩ good luck with your coding! ;✩
